Happy Holidays

Okay, so a lot has happened in the last month. Most importantly, our beautiful daughter was born.

Brynn Michelle Hambright came into the world at 12:29 p.m. via C-section weighing 7 lbs. and 12 oz. and was 19.75 inches long. The C-section went very smoothly and I recovered very quickly. We were able to come home after only two days.

Brynn is such a good baby. She is a good sleeper at night and a very good eater. She fits in perfectly within our little family.

Kyle is loving his baby sister and is adjusting very well to her presence in our lives. He leaves her alone for the most part, but will come and give her a snuggle and put her binky in her mouth when she needs it.

We had a wonderful and low key Thanksgiving here in Houston. My parent's and Janet came down and we spent time together as a family. It was very relaxing.

Greg has about 2 weeks left of his Anesthesiology rotation and then we will be able to spend Christmas in Dallas. We can't wait!

I have posted pictures of Brynn on the left. Click on the picture of her.

Bad Blogger

Okay, so I'm not great at this blogging thing. I blame it on moving, chasing a toddler around and getting ready for Brynn's arrival.

I think that most people keep up with us on Facebook, so I don't feel so badly. I'm attempting to reconnect again via this blog.

Updates:
-We are officially moved and settled in our new home. We are loving it and it feels like "home" already.
-Brynn will be here in 2 weeks and 2 days!! UNBELIEVABLE! She is growing (i.e. I am huge!) We had an ultrasound last week and she weighed in at approx. 6 lbs. 4 oz. We got her baby furniture and her room is all ready for her!
-We recently acquired a pool table. A friend in my mom's group was giving it away. It is in great condition and now lives in our garage. We anticipate many parties and "get-togethers" in the upcoming months (while it is still cool enough to play outside".
-Greg finished his surgery rotation and just started his Family Medicine rotation today. I think it will be a lot less stressful than surgery (which is nice, since Brynn will be distracting his attention some :)

We hope everyone is doing well and we can't wait for you all to meet Brynn when she arrives! We are looking forward to a nice Thanksgiving here in Houston and then a long Christmas Break in Dallas!

We're moving!

That's right! We found a cute little house to rent! We are thrilled about being back in a house. Our apartment was very nice, but it is not made for 4. Our new house is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that was built in 2003. It is in great condition and ready to move into! We get the keys on the 25th of this month and will gradually move in over the course of a week. We still have our apartment until the end of October, so there is no rush getting moved out.

Now, I just need to start the process of packing. Having a "helpful" toddler will prove challenging, I'm sure.

After we move in, we have a month to get settled until Brynn arrives on November 4th. Only 8 weeks from today! I can't believe it. Our sweet girl will be here so soon!

New Ultrasound Photos!

We had another ultrasound today to check on Brynn's growth and to check on the placenta previa.

Good news all around! The placenta previa is almost gone. They consider it "marginal" at this point. It is no longer covering my cervix and is moving toward the back as my uterus grows. We will have another ultrasound in 6 weeks to check again.

Brynn is perfect! She is growing right on target with my due date. She weighs about 2 lbs and is in the 50th percentile. She was making really cute facial expressions during the ultrasound and had her fingers in her mouth.

We got some good pictures of our sweet, little girl-to-be. I had the tech make sure that she was still a girl. I know, I'm weird. She most certainly is! YAY for pink!

Now on to the pictures:

Busy Little Boy!

Here are some pics from the last weeks or so of our busy, little boy. He has started to climb on everything and doesn't quite understand why we won't let him. If only he knew how dangerous the barstools and bookshelves are.

He is a talker for sure! His new thing is to say, "YAY!" after everything he does and clap his hands. It's very cute. I'll try to get a video of it soon!

As for me, the pregnancy is going very well. I am 22 and a half weeks and doing great! Brynn is definitely an active little girl (which I love) and she thinks that bedtime is playtime. Oh well.

Baby Brynn Michelle

We are having a girl and we are thrilled!!!  She looks great and is growing right on target.  She weighed 11 oz. at our ultrasound today.  So tiny, but I definitely feel her kicking.  Greg even got to feel her move yesterday.

We've decided to name her, Brynn Michelle.  Brynn is a name that I've always liked and we think that it goes well with Kyle.  Michelle is my middle name, of course, but we are using it in honor of her Pa-Pa (my dad, Michael) and of a very close family friend who passed away, Michael Field.  She's definitely going to be our little princess and have us all (especially her daddy) wrapped around her little finger!!

On another note, we did discover during the ultrasound that I have Placenta Previa, which means that my placenta is directly over my cervix.  I have to go back in 6 weeks and have another ultrasound to check on it.  A lot of times, it will move as the uterus grows, so please pray that it does.  I am already scheduled to have another C-section so there hopefully should be no issues with the birth.  I just have to take it easy for the rest of the pregnancy.

Thanks for all your well wishes and congrats!  We can't stop smiling!

Whaaaaat? A New Post??

I know, I know.  It's been almost 2 months since I posted last.  Everything is great, though, just busy.

Here are the updates:
Greg took his medical school board exam on June 9th and had a week off which he spent in Dallas with Kyle, myself and our families.  He started his orientation for his rotations today.  He is officially a 3rd year medical student.  Halfway done!

Speaking of halfway, I am nearly halfway through this pregnancy!  I'll be 20 weeks on Wednesday and it is truly flying by.  We find out the sex of our little Hammie on Friday!  Greg and Kyle will be with me and I am thrilled!

Kyle is his busy self.  It is hard to believe that he will be 17 months old next week.  He is truly amazing and a joy to watch.  He is into EVERYTHING and loves exploring his world.  While in Dallas he took some swimming lessons (with Daddy's help).  It was basically a crash course in "saving yourself".  He screamed (along with 11 other babies, including his cousin, Emeri).  He did really well and we are going to practice with him this summer at our apartment pool.

We are all doing well and are glad to get to spend more time together as a family.  I'll close with some recent pictures.  Enjoy!

Happy Spring!

Happy first day of MAY!  I can't believe how fast this year is passing!  It's nice to see everything so green, but with all that beauty come the dreaded mosquitos.  That's the price we pay for living in SE Texas.

We've been busy running around and going to play dates.  Kyle is now a professional walker and wants to walk anywhere he can!  I definitely have my hands full!

We had an ultrasound yesterday to check for the possibility of birth defects and everything looked perfect!  The baby was moving around and putting his/her hands in front of the face.  We got some cute pictures that I am trying to scan into the computer.  Our scanner is acting up.   I am 12 weeks along and only have about a week left in this trimester.  I am ready for the "blissful" second trimester.  I'm still in shock that I will have 2 children under 2 years-old in about 6 months.  EEK!

I'm posting a scrapblog page I made for Kyle.  He was helping me water my new flowers this past week and he was too cute!  I am also posting some Easter pics with Kyle opening his Easter basket.  Enjoy!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to everyone!  This is my first Easter away from my family and it is very hard for me. I don't get homesick very often anymore, but I definitely am today.   Greg, Kyle and I will celebrate later this afternoon when Greg gets home from studying.  I am making spaghetti for dinner and the Easter Bunny has a little basket for Kyle.

Speaking of Kyle, he is now officially walking!  He is getting more coordinated every day.  He doesn't watch where he's going and he falls a lot, but nevertheless, he is a WALKER!  I've got a short video that I'll post soon.

Here are a few pictures from an Easter Egg Hunt we had with my moms group this past week.  It was chilly and windy and Kyle refused to walk and hunt eggs, so I had to do the work for him.  Enjoy!

OH BABY!

Well, here we go again.  Baby #2 (Hammie #2)  is on the way!  I am 7 weeks pregnant today.  I had my first ultrasound today and we got to see our little blob and its heartbeat!  It was so exciting and surreal.

I'm due November 12th, but will have a repeat Cesarian section a week early (the first week of November).

I'm definitely feeling pregnant with exhaustion and nausea plaguing me throughout the day.  It is proving very challenging being pregnant while taking care of a toddler.

I'll keep everyone updated throughout the pregnancy.

Catching Up!

Kyle and I are finally settled back in here at home after an 11 day trip to Dallas.  We had a lot of fun and got to relax, but are glad to be home.  Greg and I celebrated our 5th anniversary on Friday.  It's amazing how much we have changed (and how many events have taken place) in 5 years.

I'm posting some pictures from Amanda and Danny's wedding and of course some cute ones of Mr. Kyle.

Picture Overload

I'm sorry that I've been MIA lately, but we've been so busy!  We've been traveling back and forth to Dallas for preparations for Amanda and Danny's wedding which is on the 14th!

Here is a picture overload of the little man.  He was being very sweet this past week and was actually letting me take his picture.

Enjoy!
